This
triplex 6plex in CSP, on De Champigny street, was gutted by a fire. As you can see, the roof caved in and very is left except for a facade. When I went there a crew of renovators were about to work on it even if there's nothing much left to work with. I'll check it out from time to time to see what's going on. Of course, condos will most likely be built there.
Just FYI, I live right next to that building. The fire happened last winter and was really intense.

The building is actually a 12-plex coop and they are keeping it a coop, which is a great thing. I don't think CSP needs more ugly Samcondos.
Next time you're in the neighbourhood, walk down the alley and look at how they are rebuilding it: They are actually using original materials, like thick, solid wood ("pièce sur pièce"). Apparently, the insurance company has agreed to have it rebuilt as per original specs. Impressive!
Good news...it's going to be a lot of work to rebuilt that rooftop.
