The lease for the Provigo on Verdun street hasn't been renewed and will soon close. No date has been given or what will replace it (one can guess). The store and original store owners have a long history in Verdun (see article).

This opened as a "Dionne" store at the end of the 50s. Dionne was backed up by Loblaws to compete with the Steinberg's (now Jean Coutu) one block east and of course the former "A&P" (IGA) on Bannantyne. In 1977, the purchase by Provigo made it a "Provigain" store, then Provigo until its closing...
