I can appreciate this church now as an adult but couldn't when I was a kid and had to sit through church service with my stomach rumbling knowing my grandmother (who lived on Bourgeoys Street) was cooking roast beef for Sunday dinner! My friend's mother was a ballet teacher and she used to hold ballet classes in the basement of Grace Church. I used to love my ballet lessons there and I remember it always smelled "old" downstairs.
